I hope everyone has a safe New Years Eve. Sarah Young is writing the daily devotions from Jesus' point of view; that is, the first person singular ("I", "Me", "Mine") always refers to Christ. "You" refers to you, so the perspective is that of Jesus speaking to you.
There are Scripture references after each daily reading. If you dont already have the Bible app " you version" it is a great way to access Bible verses from your phone.
